Burbage Primary School is a thriving and welcoming school with around 350 children organised into fourteen classes. We admit 50 children into Reception each year and are always happy to speak with families interested in joining our school community. I have been proud to serve as Headteacher of Burbage Primary School since September 2015, having previously held headship positions at Curbar Primary School and Fairfield Endowed Junior School.

Effective communication between home and school is vital to ensuring every child thrives. If you have any concerns or questions, no matter how small, please speak to your child's class teacher as soon as possible. Please do not feel that you need to wait until a parents' evening to raise a concern. Most issues can be resolved quickly and positively when addressed at an early stage. We encourage all members of our school community to approach conversations with an open mind and an understanding that different perspectives can sometimes emerge. We will always listen carefully and do our very best to help.

To keep families informed, I send a weekly newsletter containing key news, dates and reminders. Further information is available through our website, Burbage Primary School. We also use Class Dojo for regular communication, and updates can be found on our Facebook page. If you have any suggestions for how we can further strengthen communication between home and school, I would be very pleased to hear them.
